St. George’s Episcopal Church 

Parish Administrator 

Hours: 20-24hrs/week; 16hrs in-person (M-Th 9am-1pm) 

additional hours may be remote. 

Pay: $20/hr (negotiable based on relevant experience) 

Benefits: 2 weeks PTO annually, 4 paid sick days, federal holidays,  

4 weeks of paid parental leave 

Job Description: 

St. George’s Parish Administrator manages the day-to-day operations of the church. They  support the parish’s ministry of hospitality by welcoming and greeting all who enter the  building, communicating information to the congregation, and coordinating with outside  groups and vendors. The Parish administrator works with the clergy, music director, and  volunteer leadership of the church on the daily, weekly, and annual tasks necessary to the  functioning of the church. Primary duties include assembling weekly worship bulletins and a  weekly email newsletter, maintaining the parish directory and church website, collecting and  reporting donations, overseeing parking leases and building usage, coordinating with external  vendors, basic bookkeeping functions, and preparing monthly payroll.  

We are looking for someone who can attend to details, prioritize and follow-through on time sensitive tasks, and support the church’s mission of hospitality and inclusivity in every  interaction with our community. The position requires adaptability, flexibility, and a  willingness to balance the interpersonal and task-oriented components of the job. 

Areas of Growth: 

There are opportunities for increased hours for a Parish Administrator willing and able to take  a more active role in parish communications including expanding website content through  Squarespace, designing promotional materials, and administering social media pages. There  are also opportunities to take a more active role in the financial administration of the parish. 

Necessary Skills: 

Effective communication skills 

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Drive 

Basic website content management 

Familiarity or willingness to learn web-based communications software (e.g. Constant Contact) Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize tasks 

Reporting and terms of Employment: 

The Parish Administrator reports to the Rector for supervision and performance evaluation and is expected to work closely with members of the Vestry, our volunteer board, especially the  wardens and treasurer of the church. The Vestry with input from the Rector sets the terms of  employment and compensation. St. George’s employment practices follow all relevant state  and federal laws and regulations.
